Cadet Drill

A key part of being an air cadet is Drill and Ceremonial duties. This is not only marching as a Unit in a parade, but a way to bring all cadets together.

It not only enables cadets to come together and is there first experience of working within a team but allows cadet NCOs the opportunity to lead and teach their fellow cadets.

Having been in 104 cadets for half a year I have learn lots from drill it created bonds that will last for a lifetime. I had fell over trying to do an about turn and someone helped me up it made my day or night as it was 9 o'clock. They helped me understand my mistake and the next time I did that I felt the failure and the accomplishment of completing a drill movement.

Drill is a team-based activity with other cadets. When you first learn it can feel overwhelming, sometimes it can be in snowing or raining but at the end of the day its drill hard, tough and mentally challenging, but it feels better when your with other it feel just that little bit less colder, wetter and more tired.
