Target Shooting

Take Aim

We offer various opportunities for our cadets to participate in different styles of Target Shooting.

All RAF Air Cadet shooting takes place under strictly controlled and regulated conditions and is supervised by fully qualified and experienced adult volunteers.

Teaching the cadets the importance of rifle safety using the .177 Air Rifle all cadets are taught and then have to pass a Weapon Handling Test for each rifle prior to firing.

Cadets can then use our 5 meter range with the Scorpion, have the opportunity to start earning their target shooting badges and participate in shooting competitions.

They then have the opportunity to move onto full bore 7.62mm target shooting firing from ranges of 25 meters to 600 meters.

Target shooting not only teaches how to be disciplined with the rifle and how to shoot straight, it teaches you how to ficus, improves your hand-eye co-ordination and self control to enable you improve and see the results with each target shooting session.
